Green-Aero(SM) tooling from Nevada Composites is the next generation in rapid tooling for composites manufacture, retrofit, and repair. It provides low-cost, lightweight, accurate tooling with a composite-compatible CTE—and it is also environmentally benign. Available as single-sided tools or washout mandrels, as well as tooling blocks for machining to shape, the tooling withstands temperatures as high as 750ºF (400ºC) and pressures of 200 psi (1400 kPa), with warm-water washout as needed.
In our booth you will be able to examine a variety of tools and applications. We will display examples of aircraft and rotorcraft ducting—and the washout mandrels used to make them. For those whose interests extend beyond aerospace we will also show examples of our after-market replacement custom motorcycle parts. In addition we’ll have the molds made using fused deposition modeling technology from Stratasys and which are used to make many of our mandrels.
